- Charles KIt's been about a year since I first met with Rob at Virginia Vintage Cycle and I could not be happier. I bought a '74 Triumph Bonneville-- all original, but needed some serious TLC. I heard of Rob through word of mouth and was told he was the guy I was looking for. When it comes to restoring vintage motorcycles, Rob's knowledge, honesty, and communication along every step of the restoration process was superb. He let me know what needed to be done for safety and clearly communicated to me what I could and should do for my bike now and in the future. I had a budget and even with the work that was necessary to get done, as opposed to what I wanted to have done, the numbers were exactly where I needed them to be. Finding a mechanic with his skill and honesty is a rare thing and I could not recommend him more highly.
- Tim SRestoration and mechanical/electrical work on a ‘74 Norton 850 Commando motorcycle. Very reasonable pricing, good communication, great knowledge and resourceful/networked for sourcing parts, specialty work, and upgrades without sacrificing original look and feel of the bike. Extremely pleased with the work that was done, very high quality and craftsmanship, thorough, attention to detail, and delivered a motorcycle that is a pure joy to ride. Very patient and helpful during the process in answering questions, exploring options, and providing maintenance advice and tips upon delivery. I’d highly recommend to others. Overall Rob was just great to work with on this project.
- Richard TTook my '77 Triumph Bonneville Silver Jubilee (original owner) to Rob for a blown head gasket. Rob is super knowledgeable in vintage British bikes, especially Triumph's. After opening up the top end of the engine, it was decided to rebuild it completely, including new fuel lines and rebuild the carburetors. Rob did an awesome job, sent pictures as he methodically rebuilt the top end and informed me of the progress along the way. The engine looks like new, because Rob cleaned/repainted the barrels and even buffed out the carb bodies and all the bits and pieces he removes. If you want your British bike to be repaired the right way, take it to Rob at VVC, he does great work!
